Will Strep Throat go away on its own?
I have a sudden sore throat and it is very painful to swallow. I also have a mild fever and can see white spots in the back – top of my mouth. I think it is Strep but can’t be sure. Will it go away on it’s own?

Most likely it will but antibiotics can prevent complications that happen in rare cases. Antibiotics are more important for children under 15 because they are more likely to have the complications.
From WebMD.com:
“Strep throat will go away in 3 to 7 days with or without treatment. Doctors usually treat strep throat with antibiotics even though they may not make you well faster. Antibiotics shorten the time you are able to spread the disease to others (are contagious) and lower the risk of spreading the infection to other parts of your body.”
